About Course

Welcome to the Creativity in Coding Camp – a fun, hands-on, video-based course designed for kids aged 8 and up! Using VEXcode VR, students will learn how to code a virtual robot to complete exciting real-world challenges — from crashing castles and solving mazes to drawing creative shapes and cleaning trash from a virtual ocean.

This course is perfect for beginners with little to no experience in coding. Learners follow along with engaging video sessions at their own pace, using drag-and-drop coding blocks to control the robot. Each session encourages creativity, problem-solving, and logical thinking — all essential 21st-century skills.

Whether your child is learning from home or as part of an after-school program, this course offers an exciting first step into the world of computer science and robotics.

By the end of this course, students will be able to:
✅ Understand the basics of block-based programming with VEXcode VR
✅ Sequence blocks to drive, turn, and control a virtual robot
✅ Use sensors (Bumper, Distance, Eye, Location) to solve challenges
✅ Draw shapes using the Pen tool on the Art Canvas playground
✅ Build efficient algorithms using loops and conditions
✅ Navigate mazes and coordinate planes
✅ Use an Electromagnet to move virtual objects
✅ Apply all learned concepts to complete the final Coral Reef Cleanup challenge
✅ Develop problem-solving, creativity, and logical thinking skills through coding
